- Edutopia and The George Lucas Educational Foundation receive the Exploratorium's Outstanding Educator Award at the world-renowned museum's thirty-first annual Exploratorium Awards celebration.
- Edutopia magazine receives a Maggie Award for Best Cover for the October 2007 "Go Green" feature.

- Edutopia magazine receives a Distinguished Achievement Award in the Editorial category from the Association of Educational Publishers for James Daly's June 2006 Editor's Note.
