What a wonderful school it has become. I attended John Spry from K-8th grade and graduated in 1986. Watching the video brought me memories from back then. I was excited to see the edutopia video!
Thnak you!

Thank you for this clip - I need examples, to show my students and district leadership, of 21st century schools that are student focused!

Criminal Justice

Submitted by Vincent Russo (not verified) on July 18, 2007 - 11:40.

I have heard just a little about this school in the local media, but the edutopia website really gave me greater insight and appreciation for this type of school. I am a retired Chicago Police Officer who teaches criminal justice at Daley College, Chicago IL - not far from Spry Community School. I have a special interest in juvenile justice or more importantly how we can help our children avoid delinquent behavior. I am going to pass this information on to our President as we have a sister location that is nearer to Spry. Hopefully there are some students interested in becoming practitioners in the criminal justice field that may want to hear about our programs and get a start at Daley College. Some college classes are available for high school students. Thanks for the information and continued luck with your great school.
